Collared Sunbird (Anthreptes collaris)
Sex; female. Age; adult. Subspecies; possible garguensis. Udzungwa Mts, July 2007. Copyright@; Louis A. Hansen. The subspecies garguensis is supposed to occur in western Tanzania. Males in all subspecies have iridescent-green chin and throat and a purple-bluish narrow breast band (can be very difficult to see in the field). Among some of the subspecies even females have iridescent-green chin and throat e.g. in subcollaris.
