Thick-billed Weaver (Amblyospiza albifrons)

Immature, sex - seems to be a male. Subspecies, possible unicolor. Udzungwa Mts, August 2007. Copyright@; Louis A. Hansen. Immature due to soft bright yellow gape, white tipped upper wing coverts (just to mention a few characters). No doubt you can imagine that this bird bits - and hard too if it can get around to it. Another vernacular name often seen is Grosbeak Weaver.
