Brown-headed Apalis (Apalis alticola)
Sex; Female. Age; Adult. Subspecies; looks most like the nominate race (A. a. alticola). Udzungwa Mts, July 2007. Copyright@; Louis A. Hansen. It was sexed due to the shape and the feathering of the cloacae region. This photo shows the important pattern which might be the only character that you might see to identify this species - if one only sees it from below! Tail tips are very weak brown-grey-cream coloured, and seems to be weaker in females.
