Bar-throated Apalis (Apalis thoracica). You will first hear two birds dueting – one produce a rapid series of “chatter-like” notes the second bird replies instantly with a different and much shorter “chatter”. Half way through the sound file only one bird is calling (still same pair of birds) – yet another set of note and very different from the dueting series. Recording from the Udzungwa Mts. 1991-92.
