Dear All
Please find photographs showing one of
the two Black-winged Pratincoles Glareola nordmanni found recently by
(James Wolstencroft, Consult Nature, Arusha) at Hippo pools Ngorongoro Crater
02.02.2006.
The birds were a bit distant for my 300mm lens but shot
clearly show the diagnostic all dark under-wing first noted by JW when the birds
were flushed by passing Marsh Harrier.
The bird standing behind is a Collared, the second
Black-winged stayed frustratingly hidden behind a Hippo rut.
An exciting bonus to a fantstic days
birding!
