- This is an interesting one... not at all common and with 141 of the 296 records coming from only 4 squares Moshi (for this read SW Kilimanjaro) 3703C .. 50 records Arusha 3603B .. 48 records Dar es Salaam .. 29 records Mikumi NP .. 14 records all squares with long term resident birders. records from 73 squares ...only 21% clearly a bird of higher rainfall areas, not shown here are breeding season records from the West Usambara and Moshi sq. breeding VERY difficult to prove as they prefer old crow nests and tend to choose those as high as possible in the tallest trees around but they are very noisy around the nest, mobbing any other raptor and screaming while doing so. if there are any outstanding records out there please let me have them asap. Neil Neil and Liz Baker, Tanzania Bird Atlas, P.O. Box 1605, Iringa, Tanzania. Mobiles: 0776-360876 and 0776-360864.

Amur falcon migration 2010
- This map is showing migration of Amur Falcon in Tanzania These birds migrate too high for ground based observers, only coming down to feed prior to roost or in heavy rain storms. One recent "spring" record of a flock passing through the Iringa Highlands, observed from a high point not normally visited and not included on this map.
